Welcoming Duko Hopman

The Rob Walton Foundation is pleased to welcome Duko Hopman as its first Executive Director.

Duko brings extensive experience in nature conservation, and sustainable finance, having led global initiatives at McKinsey & Company focused on natural capital, conservation finance, and large-scale ecosystem protection. In addition, conservation leader Barry Gold will continue to serve our team as an important advisor.

Rob Walton, Founder of RWF, shared:

“With land use changes accelerating, we need to move with a sense of urgency to safeguard critical landscapes vital to the livelihoods and security of millions of people. Duko brings the strategic expertise and a deep commitment to conservation that will help us take our impact to the next level.”

With new leadership, our priority remains on:

  • Safeguarding vital landscapes, with a focus on Africa.

  • Advancing global efforts using proven approaches to strengthen natural security so people and nature can thrive together.

  • Working collaboratively with governments, NGOs, and local communities to advance high-impact strategies rooted in our understanding and support for specific topics and geographies.

We look forward to Duko’s leadership in shaping long-term strategy and global partnerships.
